Dear Friends,Like you, I understand that climate change is the greatest challenge of our time. I also know that we must change to face this challenge head on through concrete action. I also know that change -no matter how small -is never easy. For the past 20 years I have promoted environment and sustainable development as a spokesperson, researcher, reporter, policy advisor and advocate. In doing so, I have found that most Canadians: 1) agree that global warming is a serious threat; 2) are tired of political posturing and procrastination; and 3) want to work together to solve the problem at all levels – from the individual to the international.You have undoubtedly heard about (if not seen) the Academy-award winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth that features former US Vice-President and Nobeal Laureate Al Gore’s work on climate change. As a result of the film’s success, Mr. Gore established “The Climate Project” to train others to deliver a localized version of his presentation. I was one of three fortunate Canadians invited to participate in the most recent training held in April 2007. In the coming weeks and months, I will deliver this presentation wherever I am asked to whomever will listen. I am particularly keen to address non-traditional audiences (such as business and other professionals) in addition to the “usual suspects” in schools, libraries, community centres, churches, synagogues, mosques, etc.So please take some time to have a look around my website.
